NAWIC Education Foundation (NEF)

NAWIC offers industry continuing education programs for certifications through the NEF.  Certifications the following courses.  For a PowerPoint of NEF, click on the NEF Logo in the left column. 

Certified Construction Associate (CCA)

The Certified Construction Associate Program is an advanced, six-part, self study construction program.  This course focuses on construction terminology and construction procedures and processes.  Participants are required to pass all six parts within three years with two possible one-year extensions.  Those extensions must be approved by the NEF Executive Committee.

Construction Document Specialist (CDS)

This course focuses on understanding information passed between architects and general contractors.  There are many components of the legal agreement between the parties of the contract.  Those are discussed in detail in this course.

Construction Industry Technician (CIT)

This course offers an overview of the construction industry and its process.  Types of construction, forms of business, contract documents, contractual arrangements, and the construction process are some of the topics covered in this course.

Certified Bookkeeping Technician (CBT)

The Certified bookkeeping Technician course instructs participants in setting up and operation of construction bookkeeping systems.
